Shalom and Welcome! Chavurah Or Tikvah (which means Light of Hope Fellowship ) is a small synagogue (fifteen families) located at 521 Westover, in Oconomowoc, WI. We have members from a wide area including Hubertus, Dousman, Muskego, Waukesha, etc., and have been in existence since 1994. We celebrate the High Holidays with family-style services and potlucks at OSRUI in Oconomowoc. Our spiritual leader is Rabbi Brian Comrov. He is also a chaplain with Midwest Hospice in Chicago, though he lives in Milwaukee. He is available for Bar Mitzvahs, baby namings, weddings, etc. He comes for Shabbat services six to ten times a year and attends our holiday parties. His kindness, intelligence and wonderful stories endear him to all who know him. His wife, Rebbetzin Ronit Comrov, is a master chef and mashgiach. She gives cooking classes in the summer and throughout the year in our member's homes. Our leaders are: Loren Schmidt (President), Terrie Silverman (Vice President), Ann Abele (Secretary), Cathy Loew (Treasurer), Marsha Camitta (Press Secretary) and Therese Dorfman (Director of Education). Membership dues are $125.00 per year and this includes all High Holiday services. Chavurah Or Tikvah is a friendly, outgoing group and we encourage you to join us for one of our functions. We encompass a fairly wide range of Jewish religious positions and have some lively debates at times, but generally manage to remain a close group that has respect for all its members. L'Hitraot! (See you later) |
